Raw Talent Photo was founded by photographers for photographers as a totally electronic Internet-based stock photo agency. Raw Talent sells and distributes non-traditional stock photographs and original digital images for commercial and advertising purposes. Raw Talent also provides licensed sale of professionally produced photographs, digital images and digital art via the web as well as delivering critical licensing and usage information to industry professionals. Raw Talent also supports a Cooperative School Program to provide monetary incentives for both students and their associated school for images sold online through Raw Talent Photo. Brooks Institute of Photography, The San Francisco Academy of Art, and Art Center College of Design are participants in this program.

Challenge:
Raw Talent is a start-up founded to be a creative alternative to the more predictable offerings of better known online stock photography services. Raw Talent wanted Netlojix to create a unique look and feel for their newly launched online photo boutique powered by a powerful ecommerce system with easily editable database-driven functionality. Raw Talent wanted a flexible, easy-to-manage and modify ecommerce interface that would allow the site to grow and change to meet the needs of their fledgling business.

Solution:
Netlojix combined the standard features of the Shoplojix™ ecommerce engine with its intuitive, easy-to-use interface for searching, storing and ordering from the easily editable Raw Talent Photo image database. Web-based management tools were customized for Raw Talent to give non-technical staff the ability to easily update the photo archives as new photographers and their work became available. Specially designed features, like the automatic thumbnail image maker, saved the client expensive staff time while standardizing image entry during the database construction process.

Technology:
A comprehensive ecommerce system built on Netlojix proprietary ebusiness engine, Shoplojix™, was successfully implemented with a full hosting solution offering Oracle 8i database support. Compression technologies were used to create an automated thumbnail image maker, that allowed faster image loading during database construction.
